At Encephalon, part of our greater mission is to offer a safe and supportive space for personal transformation. Our events are immersive and intentionally designed to create powerful internal shifts. While they offer education, tools, and supportive practices, they are not therapeutic programs and are not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
Because the health and safety of all participants, staff, and volunteers is paramount, there are certain mental health conditions that require additional review before attending.
If you have a history of, or are currently experiencing, any of the following conditions, you are required to complete a mandatory intake call with one of our Mental Health Professionals before your registration can be finalized. In certain cases, medical clearance may also be required.
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Psychosis
- PTSD or Complex PTSD
- Severe depression or anxiety requiring hospitalization
- Any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis requiring hospitalization
Our week-long retreats are physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. It is essential that each participant is able to independently manage their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being throughout the event. While our team is present to provide educational support and guidance, we do not provide on-site psychiatric care.
Compliance with our health and safety protocols is required. If follow-up is requested, it is your responsibility to schedule and complete your intake appointment within the required time frame. Instructions for booking your appointment are outlined in the registration questionnaire and waivers. Failure to disclose relevant mental health history or current symptoms, failure to complete required follow-up, or failure to comply with our protocols may result in cancellation or termination of your registration to protect the safety of everyone at the event.
If an intake call is required, please do not book airfare or make non-refundable travel arrangements until your appointment is complete and you have been cleared to attend.
We deeply respect every individual’s healing journey and appreciate your understanding as we work to create the safest and most supportive environment possible for all.
